Latenight Football...

Geeez...It's nearly midnight on a school night and i just got back from picking Dakota up from the fieldhouse after a long evening in Hartshorne where they lost 14-7. Although i did not attend i am sure it was a great game, however, it amazes me how the school expects these athletes to keep on top of their school work when they practice until 730p every night that they don't have games and on game night well here we are at 11:30. No wonder they have 6 boys on the 9th grade team alone ineligible!!! This is NUTTS!!!

JDRF Walk 08'

Us at the end of the line, do ya see Joan & Gilbert??He's in overalls =)
Today was our second year to attend the walk in Tulsa. We all had a great time considering we were late...Yep, i said late, meaning we missed the t-shirt contest by 15minutes!! I am still a bit disappointed because i was so excited about our shirts this yr but that is'nt the importance of the walk. Our team however raised nearly $1000 this yr so for that i am proud! Dakota had a couple of his friends come along after a long night at my house. (i thought girls slumber parties were bad) They had me up until at least 3am so no telling what time they finally closed their eyes.....

But we were up at 7am and ready to go by 8. Needless to say someone is always late, it happens! We got there just in time to start walking and made the best of it. We saw the biggest Great danes i have ever seen, those things were huge, i could'nt imagine trying to keep them fed. After the mile and 1/4 walk we sat and had a nice picnic under the biggest tree we could find, and had fun watching the kids and visiting! It was a beautiful day!! *I have learned something...when my bunch is ready, we are leaving, the rest of the group can catch up!!!

Let's grow old together...

First let me start by saying for the past couple of months all we have heard is Gilbert this and Gilbert that!! Gilbert would be my mother in laws new boyfriend! Last night, i got to spend some time with Gilbert and Joan and it was just to adorable. Here is a couple in their 60's, when they first pulled up and got out of their truck they were hand in hand. They were so giddy. Who would of thought you could feel that way at that age....Yes, it reminded me of Scott and i. It was really good to see her so happy and she looked younger. I hope that when i am 60 i still feel the way i do now! GIDDY!!

Hats for Juvenile Diabetes

DAKOTAS DREAM TEAM
had their 2nd annual hat day at school. And the kids enjoyed it! I am so proud to announce that our local school raised over $240 this yr. to help JDRF and the fight against type 1 diabetes.

The winning class over all was the Ms. Silvas kindergarten with $20 for her class alone!! WAY T O GO!!!

Enough......

Alright, already!!! This rain is bringing me down. I have spent most of the summer trying to keep the chemical levels in the pool where they need to be and the last thing i need is more rain. I believe this will be the last year for the pool. It's not just the cost of keeping it up but Bethany was the only one to swim in it this year and that may have been a total of 5 times. I can take her to the public pool for $1.
I am in such need for some sunshine. I need energy!! I am working more hours then ever and it being gloomy outside makes me sleepy, which makes me cranky!! So PLEASE GOD IF YOUR LISTENING.....I WOULD LIKE SOME SUN FRIDAY!!! AmEn!!!

JDRF 2208

Well here it is again...The Walk To Cure Juvenile Diabetes. I am so hyped up over our team shirts year. Most of you know that my son Dakota was diagnosed at the age of 10 with type 1 diabetes. There is as of date, no cure, meaning every morning and throughout the day and again at bedtime he has to poke his finger and take a shot several times a day just to survive. He has done so well in managing his own insulin and testing. He is now 14 and he loves football!!

And of course his IPOD. The walk is set for Sept. 27th in Tulsa. If anyone would like to make a taxable donations please go to http://www.jdrf.org/ and donate to Dakotas Dream Team. Here's a peak at our team shirts.

School Is In Session

Gosh, i cannot believe we are already into Sept. The kiddos are in school. With it being Dakotas first yr. of high school at 14 and...girls, YIKES!! And here is Bethany almost 10 and in the 4Th grade, still so innocent. It tears me up thinking about how much they have grown.........one minute they're 2yrs old and then off to the 1st grade and now becoming more independent. Is it just me or is the time going faster the older we get?? I never thought i would ever reach 21 and now here i am the mother of a teenager...scarey!!!
